Field Technician

Install, maintain, and repair the Alabama Lightwave wireless network. Mount radios on customer roofs, configure WiFi, climb towers when needed, and respond to outage calls. You're the face customers see at install and the hands keeping the network up the rest of the time.

What you'll do

  • Install wireless radios and antennas on customer roofs, eaves, and outbuildings
  • Run interior cable from the radio to the customer router and configure WiFi
  • Maintain, repair, and upgrade equipment on Lightwave towers across our service area
  • Respond to service calls and outages, including on-call rotation for after-hours work
  • Troubleshoot customer connections on-site and remotely with the network team
  • Keep your work truck stocked, organized, and roadworthy
  • Document every job in our ticketing system before you leave the address

What we're looking for

  • Comfortable working at heights on roofs and ladders for customer installs
  • Basic networking knowledge: IP addressing, WiFi setup, cable troubleshooting
  • Valid Alabama driver's license, clean driving record, reliable personal transportation while in training
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours outages
  • Communicates clearly and politely with customers in their home
  • Prior tower, low-voltage, cable, HVAC, or electrical work is a plus, not a requirement

Nice to have

  • Bucket-truck experience
  • Existing customer-service or trade background
  • Experience with Mikrotik, Cambium, or Ubiquiti equipment
  • Live within Bibb, Chilton, or Choctaw counties

Tower climbing is not expected of you on day one. If you want to grow into tower work as your career progresses, we offer a paid training path to the certifications required, and we pay you to do the training.

Door-to-Door Sales Representative

Sign up new residential customers in our coverage area. Households on satellite, DSL, or no service at all are sitting on the other side of the door. Your job is to knock, explain the service in plain English, qualify the address, and hand the sale to the install team.

What you'll do

  • Door-to-door sales in assigned territories across Bibb, Chilton, and Choctaw counties
  • Explain Alabama Lightwave's wireless internet to households on satellite, DSL, or no service
  • Use a tablet in the field to qualify each address against the coverage map
  • Sign up qualified households and hand off cleanly to the install team
  • Hit weekly and monthly sales targets
  • Log every door and outcome in our CRM the same day
  • Represent Alabama Lightwave at community events, church socials, chamber meetings, and county fairs as needed

What we're looking for

  • Door-to-door sales experience: pest control, solar, telecom, security, roofing, anything. You've already done the door grind
  • High energy and a thick skin; rejection rolls off you
  • Plain-language communicator. Grandma needs to understand your pitch
  • Goal-driven. You know your close rate and you push to beat it
  • Valid Alabama driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Comfortable using a tablet in the field for coverage checks and order entry

  • Local knowledge of Bibb, Chilton, or Choctaw county neighborhoods
  • Existing CRM experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

  • Where's the office?

    38 Court Square West, Centreville, Alabama 35042. Two blocks from the Bibb County Courthouse on Court Square. Walk in any time during 9am to 5pm CDT, Monday through Friday.

  • Do I need a college degree?

    No. We hire on attitude, skill, and the willingness to learn. Plenty of our team came up through trades, retail, sales, or the military. If you can do the work, we don't care what's on a transcript.

  • Do I have to live in Centreville?

    No. You need to live within a reasonable drive of Bibb, Chilton, or Choctaw counties so you can reach your daily route or service area. We have team members across all three counties.

  • What does training look like?

    Two to four weeks of paid training, depending on the role. Technicians shadow an experienced installer and work toward independent installs and tower work. Sales reps spend time with our top producers and learn our products, coverage, and CRM.

  • Is there room to grow?

    Yes. As we add towers and territory, we add lead roles, ops roles, and specialty work like enterprise/DIA sales and engineering. Most senior people on the team started in entry-level field or sales positions.
