Alabama Lightwave’s active Choctaw County internet footprint starts in Butler. The network runs from our equipment on the Smiley Face water tower downtown, then reaches homes, shops, offices, and nearby addresses where the tower path works.
We do not claim countywide service just because the county name looks good on a page. We check the exact address first. Trees, terrain, roof height, distance, and the radio that fits the location all matter.
Who built it
The Smiley Face water tower is the practical high point for our Butler service. From that site we check addresses in town and nearby Choctaw County locations where line-of-sight wireless can work.
This is active internet service, not a future grant map. If the signal works at your roof, we install a small outdoor radio, bring the line inside, and set up Wi-Fi.

Alabama Lightwave expanded into Choctaw County by acquiring Wolf Broadband, a local network founded by Choctaw County native Jason Jimerson. The Bibb Voice covered the acquisition when the Butler network came under the Alabama Lightwave name.
Since then, we have been upgrading the network with Alabama Lightwave equipment, routing, support, and operating standards. Private money, local labor, and a Centreville office that answers the phone.
