Landline phone service anywhere in Alabama.

From Gulf Shores to Huntsville, Dothan to Tuscaloosa, and everywhere in between, TALK is available if you buy our internet or your current internet provider is supported. If you are not sure, call support and we will check compatibility for you.

Bring your own internet

Use a supported provider.

TALK works on top of compatible internet anywhere in Alabama. Our licensed and insured Lightwave technicians come on-site, install the Grandstream HT801 ATA, and wire it into your house's existing landline wiring. Every jack still works.

$250 One-time install
$40 Per month, all in
  • AT&T
  • Spectrum
  • T-Mobile Home Internet
  • FreedomFiber
  • Central Access

Essential workers pay $35/mo after the $5 TALK discount.

Add TALK on my existing internet

Need at least 10 Mbps down, 1 Mbps up, average latency of 30 ms or better, and an Ethernet handoff to our device. Not sure your provider is compatible? Call support and we will check. Starlink installs are $350 because of the additional hardware required.

Do not cancel your current phone yet.

Keep your existing phone service active until Lightwave TALK is installed and your number has fully ported. Canceling first can cause your current carrier to release the number, and you may lose it.

The install fee is the install fee.

It covers our equipment, travel, and the on-site work by licensed and insured Lightwave technicians. We can also bring and install a cordless phone during the appointment for an additional $40. No surprise equipment rental or hidden install bill later.

How the dial tone is delivered.

Lightwave TALK uses a Grandstream HT801 analog telephone adapter. The HT801 receives internet from your modem by Ethernet cable, then delivers standard twisted-pair dial tone landline service to your phone wiring or handset.

Built for the way Alabama still uses the phone.

Landlines didn't go away. They got more expensive, more complicated, and more out-of-state. We pulled it back home.

  • The household number

Home phone service for the number people already know.

Doctor's offices, the school emergency list, grandkids who memorized it twenty years ago, the church family. Twenty years of contacts, one number.

We port that number free. It rings the same phones on the same wires. The bill stops creeping up. The price stays $25 forever.

  • Anyone tired of the games

A landline alternative without surprise bills.

The "promotional rate" doubled in month thirteen. The franchise fee showed up out of nowhere. Customer service rerouted you offshore four months in a row.

$25 a month. All in. Forever. When something needs fixing, an American answers, and they live within the area code we just gave you.

What 'all in' actually means.

Whether you pay $25 on Lightwave or $40 on a third-party provider, the number on the bill at the end of the month is the same number on this page. Essential workers get $5/mo off TALK. No teaser pricing that doubles in month thirteen. No mystery fees added quarterly.

  • Federal, state, and local taxes included
  • 911 regulatory recovery included
  • Universal service fund included
  • No hardware rental fees
  • No number-porting fees

Everything a landline should do.

Every feature included in the $25. No upgrade tiers, no add-ons, no upsells.

  • Unlimited local + long-distance

Call anywhere in the United States as much as you want. No per-minute charges. No state-line surcharges. No "long-distance plan" upsell.

  • 911 with address mapping

E911 service routes your call to local dispatch with your physical address already on screen. Tied directly to Bibb County e911.

  • Caller ID with name

See who's calling before you answer. Spam-call screening against the major databases comes standard, and you can block any number from the keypad.

  • Voicemail-to-email

Voicemails land in your inbox as audio files and transcribed text. Reply, forward, save, archive. Search a phone message like you'd search any email.

  • eFax included

Send and receive faxes from your TALK line without a fax machine. Useful for medical paperwork, real estate closings, and anyone still needing a fax cover sheet.

  • Call forwarding

Ring your house, your cell, or both at once. Configure forwarding rules for after-hours, weekends, or specific callers. Built for both households and shops.

  • Auto-attendant

"Press 1 for sales, 2 for service" without the corporate cost. Set up an auto-attendant menu for your shop, with custom hours and after-hours routing.

What you keep.

TALK is built so the only thing that changes is the company on your bill.

Your number.

The number you've had for twenty years. The one on every business card, the church directory, the school emergency list. We port it free from any provider in seven to ten business days. Do not cancel your current phone service until we confirm your TALK install and number port are complete.

Your phones.

TALK plugs into the wiring already inside your walls through our Grandstream HT801 ATA. Every jack still works. The cordless on the kitchen counter, the corded phone in the bedroom, the office handset on a long curly cord. Keep all of it, or ask the tech to bring and install a cordless phone for $40.

TALK questions, answered straight.

  • Where in Alabama is Lightwave TALK available?

Lightwave TALK is available anywhere in Alabama if you have Alabama Lightwave internet or a supported internet provider. Gulf Shores to Huntsville, Dothan to Tuscaloosa, and everywhere in between. If you are not sure whether your provider is compatible, call our support team and we will find out for you.

  • Will TALK keep working during a power outage?

The tower stays online on battery, and the line itself doesn't carry power. A corded phone plugged into your house wiring will keep working as long as the tower is up. Cordless phones need their base station to be powered, so they drop with your house's power unless you put the modem and base on a UPS. Either way, 911 still sees your address-mapped location when the call goes through.

  • Does TALK include 911?

Yes, with E911 address mapping. When you call 911 from a TALK line, dispatch sees your physical address, not just the phone number. We're tied directly to Bibb County e911 because they're a Lightwave customer themselves.

  • Can I keep using my existing house wiring and phones?

Yes. We connect TALK to the wiring already in your house, so every wall jack still works. The cordless on the kitchen counter, the corded phone in the bedroom, the office handset, all of them keep working. No new equipment to buy.

  • How long does it take to port my number from my current carrier?

Usually seven to ten business days from the day we file the port. Do not cancel your current phone service until TALK is installed and your number has fully ported. If you cancel early, your current carrier may release the number and you can lose it.

  • Does TALK work without Lightwave internet?

Yes. TALK works on Lightwave internet with no install fee, and it also works on supported providers such as AT&T, Spectrum, T-Mobile Home Internet, FreedomFiber, Central Access, and Starlink. Your internet connection needs at least 10 Mbps download, 1 Mbps upload, average latency of 30 ms or better, and an Ethernet handoff to our device. If your provider is not listed, call us and we will check compatibility.

  • What equipment does TALK use?

We use a Grandstream HT801 analog telephone adapter. It receives internet over an Ethernet cable from your modem or router and delivers standard twisted-pair dial tone to your existing house phone wiring or directly to a handset.

  • What does the install fee cover?

The install fee covers Lightwave equipment, the on-site technician visit, and travel. Installation is performed by licensed and insured Lightwave technicians, with no surprise equipment rental or hidden install charges added later.

  • Can Lightwave provide a phone at install?

Yes. Our technicians can bring a cordless phone and install it during your TALK appointment for an additional $40 fee.

  • Do essential workers get a discount on landline phone service?

Yes. Verified essential workers get $5 per month off Lightwave TALK landline service. That discount is in addition to the essential worker discounts available on Lightwave internet plans.

  • Are there contracts or early termination fees on TALK?

No. Every Lightwave plan, TALK included, is month-to-month. Cancel any time, for any reason. We earn the next month every month.

  • What about caller ID and spam blocking?

Caller ID with name is included on every TALK line. We also screen against the major spam-call databases. If a robocaller still slips through, you can block individual numbers directly from the auto-attendant or by calling us.

  • Can a small business use TALK?

Yes. We offer TALK on business plans too. The auto-attendant, call forwarding, eFax, and voicemail-to-email features are built for shops with multiple lines and ringing patterns. Tell us how your office operates and we'll set it up that way.

Add TALK to your service.

Email or call. We port your number for free, set you up on-site with licensed and insured Lightwave technicians, and lock you in at no-surprise pricing. Do not cancel your current phone service until TALK is installed and your number has ported.
